Coral Springs to hold annual Memorial Day ceremony honoring fallen service members at Veterans Park with community participation and military honors
Coral Springs, Florida – The City of Coral Springs is preparing to bring the community together once again for its annual Memorial Day Ceremony, a tradition dedicated to honoring and remembering the men and women who lost their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
The event will take place on Monday, May 25 at 9 a.m. at Veterans Park. Residents, families, veterans, and local officials are expected to gather for a morning of reflection and remembrance.
Organized in partnership with the Veterans Coalition of Coral Springs, the ceremony is designed to pay tribute to fallen service members through a series of formal recognitions and military honors. City officials describe it as an important annual moment for the community to pause and reflect on the sacrifices made in service to the nation.
The program will include remarks from Mayor Scott Brook, who is expected to speak about the meaning of Memorial Day and the importance of honoring those who never returned home. Commissioner Joe McHugh will lead attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance, continuing a tradition of civic participation at the ceremony.
A special musical tribute will also be part of the program. The solemn performance of “Taps” will be presented by Isabella Bautista, a student at Coral Springs Charter School. The moment is traditionally one of the most emotional parts of the ceremony, marking remembrance through a simple but powerful military bugle call.
In addition to speeches and musical tributes, the ceremony will feature several traditional military elements. These include the Presentation of Colors, a wreath-laying ceremony conducted by the Coral Springs Civil Air Patrol, a salute volley, and formal honors performed by the Coral Springs Police Honor Guard.
City officials emphasize that each component of the ceremony is intended to reflect respect and gratitude for those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the U.S. military. The event has become a long-standing tradition in Coral Springs, drawing participants from across the community each year.
