Coral Springs Chamber Golf Classic raises more than $20,000 for education while attracting over 120 participants to community event

Coral Springs, Florida – More than 120 business leaders, community partners, and golf enthusiasts came together in South Florida for a day that mixed competition, networking, and fundraising, all in support of local education initiatives.

The Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce held its 5th Annual Golf Classic on May 1 at the Country Club of Coral Springs, turning the course into a full-day event focused on both community connection and charitable impact.

Presented by Fiserv, the tournament raised more than $20,000 for the Chamber’s Education Foundation. Those funds will go directly toward grants for local schools and student-focused programs across the region, helping support classroom innovation and learning opportunities for students in Coral Springs and Coconut Creek.

The event brought together participants for a full schedule of activities that went beyond traditional golf. Players competed in a hole-in-one challenge with a 24-month Lexus lease as the top prize, provided by JM Lexus. Additional contests included closest-to-the-pin and longest-drive competitions, adding a layer of friendly rivalry throughout the day.

Beyond the course, attendees also took part in a silent auction, a group lunch, and an awards reception that closed out the tournament. The mix of activities helped create a relaxed but energetic atmosphere where networking and fundraising worked side by side.

The Chamber’s Education Foundation, which benefits from the tournament proceeds, focuses on funding innovative educational programs in local schools. Organizers say the annual golf classic has become an important source of support for expanding student opportunities and encouraging creative classroom initiatives.

“We are incredibly grateful for the strong support from our sponsors, players, and volunteers who made this event such a success,” said Charinus Davis, president and CEO of the Chamber. “Events like this not only strengthen connections within our business community, but also directly support educational initiatives that benefit students right here in Coral Springs and Coconut Creek.”

The event also highlighted the role of local business sponsorship in making the fundraiser possible. Supporting organizations included Coastal Waste & Recycling, Broward Health, Pirtle Construction, and Predictum Health, all of which contributed to the success of the tournament.

While golf served as the centerpiece, the broader goal remained clear throughout the day: strengthening community ties while investing in education. Organizers emphasized that every sponsorship, swing, and auction bid ultimately contributed to programs that reach students directly in local schools.

As the final awards were handed out and participants wrapped up the day at the clubhouse, the impact of the event extended beyond the course. With more than $20,000 raised, the Chamber’s Education Foundation is expected to continue supporting classroom projects that might otherwise go unfunded.

For many attendees, the Golf Classic has become more than a sporting event. It is a yearly gathering where business, community, and education intersect — and where a single day on the golf course translates into long-term benefits for students across the region.
