Parkridge Christian High School football team makes history with first win in its inaugural season
Coral Springs, Florida – The Parkridge Christian football program reached a milestone Saturday night that the team and its players will remember for years to come.
The Panthers earned the first victory in school history, defeating Babcock High School 30-15 in just the second game of their inaugural season. After opening the program with a loss to Pompano Beach High School, Parkridge Christian responded with a strong performance on both sides of the ball.
At the center of the breakthrough win was Jake Warren, who delivered one of the most impressive all-around performances of the young program’s season. Warren accounted for five touchdowns while also making his presence felt on defense.
Warren scored on an 85-yard kickoff return and added two rushing touchdowns. He also threw two touchdown passes to Ramon Brayan, giving him a hand in every one of the Panthers’ five touchdowns.
The standout performance was not limited to his work on offense. Warren finished the night with 105 rushing yards and contributed five tackles on defense. He also forced a fumble, showing the kind of versatility that helped Parkridge Christian control the game.
While Warren supplied much of the offensive production, the Panthers’ defense played a major role in securing the historic victory.
Silas Greenfield had six tackles and made two key plays by intercepting a pass and recovering a fumble. His defensive contributions helped Parkridge Christian prevent Babcock from turning the game into another close contest.
Elijah Jimenez led the Panthers with eight tackles and added a forced fumble. Titus Halulko also recorded six tackles and recovered a fumble as Parkridge Christian continued to pressure the Babcock offense.
The game also produced a personal milestone for Izaiah Campbell, who recorded the first sack of his high school career. Plays such as those helped create a complete team effort as the Panthers moved into the win column for the first time.
For a program playing its first season, the 30-15 result represents more than simply another game on the schedule. It gives Parkridge Christian its first win and provides the players with an early sign of what the new program can accomplish.
The Panthers will not have to wait long for another opportunity. Parkridge Christian is scheduled to return home Thursday, September 3, when it hosts South Miami High School.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., giving the Panthers a chance to celebrate their historic first victory in front of their home crowd before turning their attention to the next challenge.
