Coral Springs native Caleb Roberts makes immediate impact after returning to Double-A baseball with Minnesota Twins organization following strong offensive start

Coral Springs, Florida – Coral Springs native Caleb Roberts is quickly making his presence felt again in affiliated baseball after signing with the Minnesota Twins organization and returning to the Double-A level.

Roberts, a former fifth-round pick in the 2021 MLB Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks, spent the start of the season outside the affiliated system. He played independent baseball with the Long Island Ducks, working to keep his form sharp while waiting for another opportunity at the next level. That opportunity came when the Twins organization brought him back into affiliated baseball.

Since his return, Roberts has not wasted time adjusting. He has already hit three home runs for the Double-A Wichita Wind Surge, showing immediate production in his new environment. His most recent homer came in the team’s latest game against the Tulsa Drillers, continuing a strong early stretch that has drawn attention.

The quick impact stands out not only because of the timing of his return, but also because of the consistency he has shown throughout his professional career. Roberts has long been known as a power bat with steady run production, and his early results with Wichita suggest that trait has carried over.

Last season, while playing for the Amarillo Sod Poodles, Roberts hit 10 home runs and drove in 57 runs. Those numbers added to his growing track record of offensive contribution across multiple levels of minor league baseball.

Over the course of his career, Roberts has now appeared in 489 professional games. Across that span, he has posted a .245 batting average, along with 60 home runs and 269 runs batted in. The numbers reflect a player with sustained experience and a clear ability to drive in runs over time.

For Roberts, the return to affiliated baseball marks another step in a career that has already seen several transitions, from being drafted out of the Diamondbacks system to time in independent leagues and now back into a major league organization’s pipeline.

His recent performance with the Wichita Wind Surge suggests he has adapted quickly to the change in competition level. Hitting three home runs in a short span is a strong signal that his power remains a consistent part of his game, even after time away from affiliated play.

While it is still early in his stint with the Twins organization, Roberts’ production has already made an impression. Players moving between independent and affiliated baseball often face adjustment periods, but Roberts has shown early signs of stability and impact at the plate.

As the Double-A season continues, his performance will likely be watched closely, both for sustained offensive output and for how he fits into the broader organizational plans. For now, the Coral Springs native is back in familiar territory and making the most of his opportunity, one swing at a time.
