Motorcyclist killed in afternoon crash at Bird Road and Red Road near Coral Gables
Miami-Dade County, Florida – A motorcyclist was killed Monday afternoon after crashing into a sedan at the intersection of Bird Road and Red Road in Miami-Dade County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash happened just before 4 p.m. near Coral Gables. Investigators said the motorcyclist was traveling on a Kawasaki when a Hyundai Sonata turned into his path, leading to a collision between the motorcycle and the car.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Hyundai was traveling westbound on Southwest 40th Street, commonly known as Bird Road. The driver then made a turn onto 57th Avenue, also known as Red Road, and moved in front of the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist struck the side of the Hyundai in a T-bone-style crash. The impact caused him to fall from the Kawasaki.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, but the motorcyclist did not survive. Lt. Alex Camacho, an FHP spokesperson, said the motorcyclist died at the scene.
The crash occurred just outside Coral Gables and resulted in a fatal outcome for the motorcycle rider. Authorities have not released the rider’s name.
The Florida Highway Patrol has not publicly identified the motorcyclist as officials continue to handle the investigation into what led to the collision.
It also remains unclear whether the driver of the Hyundai Sonata will face any legal consequences. Authorities have not said whether the driver will receive a citation or be charged in connection with the crash.
