Security guard stealing in Coral Springs Macy’s captured by covert sting

Coral Springs, Florida – He was employed at Coral Springs Macy’s as a security guard, but when store supplies began to vanish, his supervisors became suspicious.
They installed surveillance cameras as part of a “covert operation” that Franco Andre Cedeno was unaware of. According to a police complaint, they recently caught the 29-year-old stealing four times.
Franco apparently took a special interest in cologne and sportswear.
According to the complaint, Cedeno was seen by security cameras cramming two scent boxes into a cross-body bag at approximately 7:45 p.m. on January 11.
He was captured on camera wearing a white Nike long-sleeve shirt and black Nike shorts around one hour later.
He was caught on CCTV stealing gray Polo sweatpants at approximately 7:35 p.m. the next day.
According to the complaint, he was then shown on camera taking another fragrance box at 2:30 on January 15 and exiting the business ten minutes later to place it in his car.
According to the report, Cedeno stole about $1,200 worth of goods in total.

According to court documents, he was put into Broward County Jail after being charged with grand theft.
On a $1,000 bond, he was freed.
