A young adult from Coral Springs is charged with burglary after pulling a “Ding Dong Ditch” prank at the Marriott Hotel

Coral Springs, Florida – At the Marriott Coral Springs Heron Bay, a young adult’s attempt at a “Ding Dong Ditch” prank has resulted in a burglary accusation.
According to an arrest complaint, on January 11, Gianni Picasso-Moyano, 19, and his companions were conducting the traditional “Ding Dong Ditch” prank of ringing doorbells and fleeing from the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Coral Springs Hotel & Convention Center, located at 11775 Heron Bay Boulevard.
Picasso-Moyano kicked open a partially closed hotel room door while on the sixth floor of the hotel, forcing it to swing open, according to the complaint.
According to the story, he yelled for his friends to flee when he saw that a woman and her family were in the room.
According to the report, the hotel guest in the room said to authorities that she heard a loud bang that sounded like an explosion and then observed a younger male enter the room before hurriedly leaving.
According to the complaint, hotel managers asked a group of roughly six young people who were trespassing on the premises earlier in the evening to leave.
But the group came back.
Picasso-Moyano and four other people were apprehended by Coral Springs police outside a petrol station located at 5966 Coral Ridge Drive.
According to the investigation, Picasso-Moyano acknowledged participating in the prank during interrogation and claimed to have carried out similar actions around five times before to this occurrence.
Picasso-Moyano is accused of breaking into an occupied building.
After being brought to the Broward County Jail, he was eventually set free on bond.
