One dead, two hospitalized following a shooting incident in Hollywood

Hollywood, Florida – A shooting incident in Hollywood on Thursday afternoon resulted in one fatality and two injuries.

The Hollywood Police Department reported receiving a distress call shortly before 4:30 p.m., alerting them to a shooting near the 5800 block of McKinley Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered three gunshot victims. Unfortunately, one of the individuals was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other two were urgently transported to Memorial Regional Hospital; their current medical condition remains undisclosed.

As the investigation unfolds, police have indicated that there is no active search for a suspect, suggesting that the shooter is not at large. This information provides some relief to the local community but does little to alleviate the grief stemming from the incident.

Neighbors revealed poignant details about the man who died, describing him as a caring figure in the community who worked as a tow truck driver. The victim had been living with his two nephews, whose father was tragically killed 15 years earlier.

According to local residents, the shooting occurred when the man attempted suicide, and his nephews intervened in an effort to save him. Tragically, the ensuing struggle led to gunfire that wounded all three individuals.

The investigation continues.
