Man faces charges after assaulting mother over food at Tamarac Wing Stop
Coral Springs, Florida – A South Florida man, Kevin Thompson, has been arrested following a severe altercation with his mother over what he described as “stank wings.” The incident, which quickly escalated from a verbal dispute to physical violence, occurred last week and has since drawn significant attention from local authorities.
The confrontation began at a Wing Stop in Tamarac, where Thompson’s mother was picking him up. An argument erupted after Thompson allegedly handed his mother spoiled chicken and demanded that they go to another Wing Stop location for fresh food. When his mother asked why, Thompson bluntly stated, “I want chicken. The chicken I gave you is stank.”
As tensions rose, Thompson reportedly slammed on the brakes of his car and challenged his mother to a fight. The situation took a more dangerous turn when Thompson allegedly punched his mother in the face after she exited the vehicle.
Fearing further violence, the woman fled to a nearby Publix parking lot. According to the Coral Springs Police Department report, Thompson pursued her aggressively in his car, attempting to run her over twice, escalating the nature of the confrontation to potentially deadly levels.
The police quickly responded to the incident, and Thompson was arrested at the scene. He now faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, specifically using his car, in addition to domestic battery and driving with a suspended license. This case highlights the severe consequences that can arise from domestic disputes and the importance of addressing such issues before they escalate into violence.
