FDOT unveils $8.85 million upgrades for Alligator Alley rest area

Broward County, Florida – The Alligator Alley rest area, located at Mile Marker 34 on Interstate-75 in Broward County, is currently undergoing a significant renovation.

As detailed by the Florida Department of Transportation in Southeast Florida, enhancements will include a new observation tower, boardwalks, trails, pavilions, and an immersive wetland exhibit, among other additions.

These improvements are projected to be finalized by the close of 2023.

To offer a glimpse into the transformation, FDOT Southeast Florida recently released a photograph highlighting the emerging elevated boardwalk, observation tower, and accompanying environmental features.

The financial allocation for this upgrade stands at approximately $8.85 million, as disclosed by FDOT.
