Lauderhill aquatic centers set to host series of swimming lessons

Lauderhill, Florida – The City of Lauderhill has unveiled the schedule for a series of swimming lessons, to be held across four different dates for the remainder of the year.

In an effort to foster water safety and swimming proficiency, the Lauderhill aquatic centers will be hosting these classes for residents of all ages. The lessons will be hosted at the Veterans Park Pool, located at 7600 Northwest 50th Street.

Group lessons, each lasting for a duration of 30 minutes, provide an optimal opportunity for residents to acquire vital water safety skills ahead of the Winter season.

Upon successful completion of these classes, children will be invited to join the esteemed Torpedoes Swim Team. This provides an exciting opportunity for them to exhibit their skills and participate in various competitive swimming events.

For the convenience of attendees, these lessons will be conducted from Tuesday to Friday during the weekday afternoons, with Saturday morning sessions also available.

The upcoming sessions will be held on the following dates:

  • July 10 – June 20
  • July 31 – August 10
  • August 28 – September 8
  • September 18 – September 28 (No classes will be held on Labor Day)

The lessons have been strategically planned to cater to different age groups and levels of expertise, scheduled throughout the afternoon and evening:

  • 4:00 pm: Ages 3 – 5 (Beginner)
  • 4:30 pm: Ages 6 – 11 (Beginner)
  • 5:00 pm: Ages 6 – 11 (Intermediate)
  • 5:30 pm: Ages 12 & up (Adult)

In the case where there are two or fewer students, classes will be amalgamated to enable personalized teaching and effective learning.

For intermediate-level students, a preliminary swim test must be passed prior to registering for the suitable level.

Residents of Lauderhill can partake in these lessons for a fee of $35, while the cost for non-residents is $150. Enrollments can be made online at www.lauderhill-fl.gov/rec or by scanning the QR code provided on the website.
