Broward Sheriff’s Office offers reward for information on Florida beach gunman
Pompano Beach, Florida – Law enforcement agencies are intensively searching for an armed suspect who opened fire on a Florida beach over the weekend, resulting in one fatality and another person injured.
The incident occurred at 251 South Dixie Highway West in Pompano Beach, located to the north of Fort Lauderdale. Authorities responded promptly to a call regarding the shooting, arriving at the scene just before 6.25pm on Friday, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Upon their arrival, police officers found two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims was declared dead at the scene, while the second victim was immediately transported to a local medical facility, suffering from injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The suspect was able to escape from the scene and is currently deemed “armed and dangerous” by the police.
To expedite the capture of the suspect, the Sheriff’s Office unveiled surveillance footage of the individual on Monday, in addition to offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to their apprehension.
“The individual is described as a male, 5’5” tall with a slim build. He was last seen walking westbound on Southwest Second Place from South Dixie Highway,” police informed.
