AAA reports six-cent dip in Florida’s gas prices after four-week high
Florida – Motorists in Florida experienced a slight reprieve at the pump last week, with gas prices dipping six cents following a four-week peak of $3.47 per gallon on Tuesday.
AAA, the national automobile association, reported that the average cost of gas across the state stood at $3.41 per gallon on Monday.
Drilling down into specific regions, Miami saw an average gas price of $3.45 per gallon, while in Fort Lauderdale, the figure was slightly lower at $3.44 per gallon.
In a statement regarding the current price trend, AAA spokesperson Mark Jenkins observed, “Florida drivers are now paying an average price of $3.41 per gallon”. He went on to add, “Summertime fuel demand is off to a strong start, which will likely contribute to continued volatility in prices at the pump through the next several months.”
A survey of the state’s gas markets revealed that the highest prices were observed in West Palm Beach, Naples, and Homosassa Springs. Conversely, the most cost-effective fuel prices were found in the panhandle region, specifically in Pensacola and Panama City.
