Coral Glades High welcomes incoming students with annual Jaguar Expedition orientation designed to help freshmen prepare for high school life
Coral Springs, Florida – Incoming students at Coral Glades High School will have a chance to become familiar with their new school environment before classes begin as the school hosts its annual Jaguar Expedition orientation on Thursday, July 30.
The event, organized by the Coral Glades High School Student Government Association, is designed to help students make a smoother transition into high school. Throughout the morning, participants will learn more about campus life, academic opportunities, extracurricular activities, and the resources available to support them during their high school years.
Jaguar Expedition will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students attending the event must check in early, with registration beginning at 8:15 a.m. Organizers said students need to arrive no later than 8:40 a.m., and entry will not be allowed after 9:20 a.m.
During the orientation, incoming students will take part in interactive workshops created to introduce them to the expectations and experiences of high school. They will also have the opportunity to tour the campus, meet current student leaders, and connect with representatives from various clubs and student organizations.
In addition to learning more about school activities, students will receive important items before the start of the school year. Each attendee will receive their class schedule, textbooks, student identification card, a Jaguar Spirit Shirt, and lunch during the event.
Registration for Jaguar Expedition is currently available online. The cost is $25 for students who register during the online pre-sale period, which ends July 24. Beginning the week of July 27, the registration fee will increase to $30 online and will remain $30 for students who pay on the day of the event.
Students who wait until the final week or choose same-day registration should be aware of possible limitations. While in-person registration will be available from 8 to 8:30 a.m. on July 30, organizers said those who register late are not guaranteed to receive a spirit shirt or their class schedule during the orientation.
Parents and guardians are also encouraged to participate. The school will offer an optional parent orientation session at 9 a.m. in the school library. The presentation will provide families with information about school programs, available resources, and ways they can support their students as they begin their high school experience.
School officials and organizers said the orientation is an important opportunity for students to feel more comfortable before their first day. By visiting the campus, meeting other students, and learning about school expectations, incoming Jaguars can begin the year with greater confidence.
The Student Government Association encourages families to register early to receive the lower registration price and help organizers prepare for the event. Early registration also helps ensure students have access to the materials and items provided during the orientation.
