City of Coral Springs launches new podcast under the Sun to connect residents with local government and community initiatives
Coral Springs, Florida – In an effort to bring residents closer to local government, the City of Coral Springs is launching a new podcast titled Under the Sun, a platform designed to give the public a window into the people, programs, and initiatives shaping their community. The podcast’s first episode is set to premiere February 17 and will be accessible on Spotify and YouTube, allowing residents to engage with city updates on demand.
The Under the Sun Podcast aims to feature conversations with a wide range of community stakeholders, including elected officials, city leaders, public safety personnel, and partners who play vital roles in Coral Springs. Through these discussions, listeners will gain insight into how local government functions while learning about topics that directly affect residents and businesses in the area.
“We are always looking for innovative ways to engage, inform, and educate our community, whether in person, online, or through new digital platforms,” said Lynne Martzall, Executive Director of Communications and Intergovernmental Affairs. “This podcast is another meaningful way we’re connecting with residents and increasing transparency in local government. Under the Sun gives us the opportunity to share the stories behind the services, people, and decisions that shape daily life in Coral Springs, while strengthening trust and connection with our community.”
Episodes will be hosted by members of the City’s Communications and Marketing team, with each installment highlighting one guest and focusing on timely, relevant community topics. Listeners can expect a mix of behind-the-scenes perspectives, policy explanations, and conversations that make local governance more understandable and approachable.
In addition to its main series, Under the Sun will include two specialized segments to highlight the city’s public safety departments. Signal 14 will explore topics related to the Coral Springs Police Department, while Fully Involved will focus on the Coral Springs Fire Department. Both series fall under the Under the Sun umbrella, providing residents with focused content on safety, emergency preparedness, and departmental initiatives.
The debut episode will feature City Manager Catherine Givens, who will discuss how the city operates, recent accomplishments, and priorities for the future. Listeners will have the chance to hear directly from the City Manager about decisions and projects that impact daily life, from city services to community development.
City officials are encouraging residents to subscribe to the podcast to stay informed and engaged with the latest news and updates from Coral Springs. By making these conversations accessible online, the city hopes to foster a more connected, informed community that understands the inner workings of its government and the efforts behind city services.
