Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce to honor local first responders veterans and public works employees at annual community breakfast

Coral Springs, Florida – Local heroes will take center stage next month as the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual “Heroes Among Us” community breakfast, honoring first responders, public works employees, and a veteran for their dedication and service to the community. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, February 10, beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the Coral Springs Museum of Art.
The breakfast promises to be a celebration of courage, commitment, and community impact, bringing together honorees from both Coral Springs and Coconut Creek. Former Coral Springs Fire Chief Frank Babinec will serve as the moderator for the morning’s program, guiding attendees through a lineup of awards and recognitions for those who have gone above and beyond in their respective roles.
Among those being recognized is Police Officer William Baron, who will receive the First Responder Excellence Award on behalf of Coral Springs, and Detective Cheri Stabile, who will receive the same honor representing Coconut Creek. The awards highlight individuals whose actions demonstrate outstanding dedication, skill, and bravery in the line of duty.
Life-saving efforts will also be acknowledged during the breakfast. Officers Xavier Reinoso and Jessica Murphy of Coral Springs will be honored for their quick response in critical situations, while Coconut Creek Officer Ethan Rodriguez will also receive the Life-Saving Award for his extraordinary actions in protecting community members. In addition to first responders, the event will celebrate contributions from the military and public works sectors. Ed Zito, a local veteran from Coral Springs, will be recognized with the Military & Veterans Service Award for his commitment to service and support of the community. Public works employees, often working behind the scenes to maintain city operations, will also be honored. Brandon Pinkney and Ernest Edmond of Coconut Creek, along with Glen Gordon of Coral Springs, will receive Public Works Hero Awards for their tireless efforts to ensure city systems and services continue running smoothly.
