Local 10’s Big Bus Toy Express returns to The Walk in Coral Springs to help children in need during the holidays

Coral Springs, Florida – The holiday season is fast approaching, and the spirit of giving is back in full force as Local 10’s Big Bus Toy Express returns to The Walk in Coral Springs. The special event, designed to support the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program, will make its much-anticipated stop on Friday, December 12th, from 12 to 1 p.m., inviting the community to come together to spread holiday cheer to children in need.

The event will feature a live broadcast from The Walk, located at 2750 N University Drive, giving attendees the chance to be part of a televised segment while making a difference. Residents are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys to the large fountain at The Walk, ensuring that each donation helps brighten the holiday for local children who might otherwise go without.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, free ice cream coupons from Kilwins will be given to everyone who donates a toy during the event. These coupons are redeemable on December 12th, making it a sweet reward for generosity. In addition to treats, children and families attending can enjoy a visit from Elmo, adding extra excitement for the younger participants during the hour-long celebration.

Last year, the collaboration between The Walk and Amera Corp demonstrated a strong commitment to the Toys for Tots mission. The organizations presented an oversized $1,000 donation check during a live segment with Local 10, showing the community just how much local businesses and residents can contribute to the cause. This year, Amera is returning with another monetary donation to ensure that no child is left without a gift during the holiday season.

For those unable to attend the December 12th event, The Walk has set up multiple convenient toy drop-off locations where donations will be accepted through the day of the event. Toys can be dropped off at Amera at 2900 N University Drive, 2nd Floor, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Other participating locations include Berkshire Hathaway at 2754 N University Drive, Whit’s Frozen Custard at 2866 N University Drive, Crocante Bakery at 2708 N University Drive, Jamba at 2816 N University Drive, and Wildflowers of Parkland at 2904 N University Drive. Each location provides an accessible way for residents to contribute even if they cannot attend the live broadcast.

Organizers stress that the event is not just about donating toys but also about fostering a sense of community and holiday spirit. “It’s amazing to see how everyone comes together during the holiday season,” said one event coordinator. “Local 10’s Big Bus Toy Express provides a unique opportunity for families to give back while having fun and celebrating together.”

Over the years, the event has grown into a much-loved tradition in Coral Springs, combining live television excitement with the joy of giving. The Big Bus Toy Express not only helps collect toys for children who might otherwise go without presents but also reminds the community of the importance of coming together and supporting those in need.

As December approaches, residents are encouraged to mark their calendars, bring their toys, and join the celebration at The Walk. With live broadcasts, Elmo, ice cream treats, and generous donations from local businesses, the event promises to be a memorable way to kick off the holiday season and ensure that every child in the Coral Springs area can experience the joy of receiving a gift this December.
