Coral Springs International Dinner Dance to showcase Portuguese culture
Coral Springs, Florida – The City of Coral Springs is preparing to celebrate the traditions and culture of Portugal during its annual International Dinner Dance, an event that brings residents together each year to experience the customs of a different nation. This year’s gathering is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19, and will feature an evening filled with authentic food, music and cultural entertainment inspired by Portuguese heritage.
Organized by the city’s Multi-Cultural Advisory Committee, the celebration will take place from 6:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. at the Marriott Heron Bay, located at 11775 Heron Bay Blvd. The annual event has become a popular fixture in Coral Springs, giving community members an opportunity to explore cultures from around the world while connecting with neighbors in a festive setting.
For the 2026 edition, organizers have chosen Portugal as the featured country, highlighting its rich traditions, distinctive cuisine and vibrant cultural legacy. Throughout the evening, attendees can enjoy Portuguese-themed decorations, live performances and entertainment designed to showcase the country’s heritage. A DJ will keep the celebration going, while a photo booth and dancing will add to the night’s activities.

Commissioner Joshua Simmons, who serves as the commission liaison to the Multi-Cultural Advisory Committee, said the event continues to strengthen community connections by embracing the city’s diverse population.
“The International Dinner Dance is one of Coral Springs’ most beloved traditions because it brings people together to experience cultures from around the world,” Simmons said.
Guests are encouraged to take part in the cultural celebration by wearing traditional Portuguese clothing. Those representing other backgrounds are also invited to wear attire that reflects their own heritage, adding to the event’s multicultural atmosphere.
Admission costs $75 per person. The ticket price includes dinner, complimentary wine served with the meal and access to the evening’s entertainment. Organizers noted that tickets must be purchased ahead of time, as they will not be available for sale at the entrance on the night of the event.
In addition to ticket sales, sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and individuals interested in supporting the annual celebration. Event organizers say community partnerships help make the cultural showcase possible each year while continuing the tradition of recognizing the many backgrounds represented throughout Coral Springs.
