Coral Springs mother arrested after violent parking lot fight with her ex and his girlfriend over child custody dispute
Coral Springs, Florida – A Coral Springs mother was arrested after a confrontation with her ex-boyfriend escalated into a physical altercation involving his current girlfriend, according to police reports.
The incident occurred late on September 2 on Royal Palm Boulevard, when 31-year-old Scarlett Rodriguez met her former partner. The couple, separated for six years, had been exchanging heated text messages regarding arrangements for dropping off their three children.
Police said the disagreement quickly turned physical. Rodriguez allegedly shoved her ex twice, leaving visible scratches on his chest and arm. When his girlfriend intervened, the confrontation intensified. Rodriguez reportedly pulled the girlfriend to the ground by her hair and wrestled her before fleeing the scene in a van.
Officers were able to locate the van later that day on Coral Springs Drive. Both victims sustained visible injuries during the altercation, but they declined medical treatment.
Rodriguez was subsequently arrested and booked into the Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail. She has since been released on bond, and a court order requires her to stay away from her ex.
Authorities emphasized that the altercation serves as a reminder of how disputes over custody and co-parenting arrangements can quickly escalate into dangerous situations if not handled calmly.
