Coral Springs school evacuated in response to alleged bomb threat
Coral Springs, Florida – Authorities announced that a bomb threat at Ramblewood Middle School in Coral Springs was unfounded after the allegation led to a Code Red lockdown and an evacuation of the school on Monday morning.
Located at 8505 W. Atlantic Blvd., the middle school remained on high alert as law enforcement officials scrambled to investigate the potential danger.
According to a spokesperson for Broward County Public Schools, the safety of students and staff is the top priority, hence the school was evacuated as a precautionary measure. Coral Springs police stated that a student had discovered a social media threat and notified the school authorities, prompting the emergency response.
K9 units from the Broward Sheriff’s office were deployed to comb the premises for any signs of explosives, but fortunately, none were found on campus. The investigation into the matter is ongoing, but no one has been detained.
Students who were not picked up by their relatives were eventually allowed to return to class. The incident has served as a stark reminder of the importance of staying vigilant and taking all potential threats seriously, especially in schools.
