Coral Glades golfer Shannon Glynn opens season with back-to-back first-place finishes and impressive early form
Coral Glades, Florida – Coral Glades golfer Shannon Glynn has wasted little time making her presence felt this season, opening the Jaguars’ schedule with back-to-back first-place finishes.
Glynn began the season by competing against Cardinal Gibbons and St. Thomas Aquinas. She posted a 37, finishing one stroke over par and seven strokes ahead of the rest of the field. It was a strong opening performance and an early indication that she was ready for another successful season.
Her second match was even more impressive.
Facing Marjory Stoneman Douglas at Parkland Golf and Country Club, Glynn fired a 33, finishing three strokes under par. She capped the round with an Eagle, securing another first-place finish and giving her two victories in the Jaguars’ first two matches.
The quick start comes after Glynn put together a strong campaign last season. Her performance earned her a place on the All-Conference Second Team, providing a solid foundation as she entered the new season.
Now, with two wins already on her record, Glynn has given herself plenty of momentum. Her early results also appear to have increased expectations around the Coral Glades program.
Head coach Tim DeLeuw believes Glynn is prepared to take another step forward and handle whatever challenges come her way during the season.
“Shannon’s time is now,” he said. “This is her year. She has a season worth of scores to settle, and she is taking on all competitors. In all seriousness, Spirit Halloween is selling Shannon Glynn costumes this year because she is the scariest thing in high school golf right now.”
The comment captures the confidence surrounding Glynn after her first two performances. While the season is still young, her results have already put her among the golfers to watch.
Her opening round showed that she could create a significant gap between herself and the field, while the second demonstrated that she could go even lower when given the opportunity. The 33 at Parkland Golf and Country Club, combined with an Eagle to finish the round, gave the Jaguars another first-place result.
For Coral Glades, having a golfer capable of producing those numbers provides an important advantage as the team moves deeper into the schedule.
Glynn will now look to maintain the form that has carried her through the opening matches. After earning All-Conference honors last season, she has started the new campaign by raising the bar even higher.
Two matches have produced two first-place finishes, and Glynn has already shown that she intends to make this season her own.
