Coral Glades High welcomes incoming students with annual Jaguar Expedition orientation before the new school year
Coral Springs, Florida – Incoming students at Coral Glades High School will have the chance to become familiar with their new campus and prepare for the upcoming school year during the school’s annual Jaguar Expedition orientation on Thursday, July 30.
The event, hosted by the Coral Glades High School Student Government Association, is designed to help students make a smoother transition into high school. Throughout the morning, participants will learn more about campus life, academic opportunities and the many extracurricular activities available to them.
Jaguar Expedition will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students attending the event should arrive early, with check-in beginning at 8:15 a.m. Organizers have asked students to arrive no later than 8:40 a.m., and entry will not be allowed after 9:20 a.m.
The orientation will include a variety of activities designed to help new students feel more comfortable before classes officially begin. Students will take part in interactive workshops, explore the school through campus tours and meet representatives from clubs and student organizations.
The event also gives students an opportunity to complete several important preparations before the first day of school. Attendees will receive their class schedules, textbooks and student identification cards. Students will also receive a Jaguar Spirit Shirt and lunch as part of the orientation experience.
Registration is currently available online. The pre-sale registration fee is $25 and will remain available through July 24. Starting the week of July 27, the registration cost will increase to $30 online and will also be $30 for students who register on the day of the event.
Same-day, in-person registration will be available from 8 to 8:30 a.m. on July 30. However, organizers are encouraging students to register early because those who wait until the final week or the day of the event may not be guaranteed a spirit shirt or a class schedule.
In addition to activities for students, Coral Glades High School is also offering an optional orientation session for parents and families. The parent session will begin at 9 a.m. in the school library and will provide information about school programs, available resources and ways families can support students as they begin their high school journey.
School officials and organizers say the Jaguar Expedition orientation is an important opportunity for incoming students to build confidence, connect with classmates and learn what to expect as they enter a new academic environment.
By introducing students to the campus, teachers, activities and resources before the school year begins, the event aims to help freshmen and other new students feel prepared and welcomed from their first day at Coral Glades High School.
