Coral Springs kicks off high school soccer and basketball seasons
Coral Springs, Florida – The winter sports season has kicked off in Coral Springs following a successful fall, with four schools now competing in basketball and soccer.
The Coral Springs High School boys soccer team has a record of 3-2 this season, having secured victories against Plantation, West Broward, and Monarch High School. The girl’s teams secured victory only in their opening match against South Plantation High School. In their recent triumph, they netted five goals; however, they have faced a scoring drought in their last four matches.
This year, the Coral Glades boys soccer team holds a record of 5 wins and 3 losses. The season kicked off with a decisive 4-1 triumph against North Broward Prep, which was then succeeded by a solid 4-2 win over West Broward High School. The Jaguars faced two consecutive losses before bouncing back with wins against Coconut Creek and Coral Springs High School. Coral Glades experienced a mixed outcome in their recent matchups, suffering a defeat against Marjory Stoneman Douglas.
The girls team secured an exhilarating victory in their most recent match, triumphing over Pompano Beach High School with a score of 4-3. The team triumphed over Western and Coral Springs High School, achieving an impressive 8-1 scoreline across those two matches, while they ended in a stalemate with South Broward High School, finishing 0-0.
The Coral Springs Charter boys’ soccer team began the season with a challenging 0-4 record, but they managed to secure three consecutive victories before facing defeat in their last two matches. Their victories came against Calvary Christian Academy, Somerset Academy Central, and South Florida Heat.
This year, the girls’ team boasts a record of 5 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw, securing victories over Pine Crest, Calvary Christian Academy, Key West, South Florida Heat, and Monarch High School. In their initial eight matches, they have netted a total of 18 goals.
The J.P. Taravella boys soccer team started strong with a 3-0 victory over McArthur High School in their opening match. However, they faced setbacks in their subsequent games, suffering losses to Western and Pompano Beach High School. The girls team boasts a record of 3-2, featuring two impressive 8-0 victories and a solid 4-1 win against Piper High School.
Coral Sprints High School has dominated the basketball season. The boys’ team boasts a record of 2-0, featuring a victory against J.P. Taravella this season. The boys team secured a victory against Charles W. Flanagan High School, while the girls team triumphed over Coral Springs Charter in their opening match with a score of 63-39.
On Monday, CSC’s boys team kicked off their season with a close match, ultimately falling 46-42 to Ramson Everglades. The girls team secured a victory against South Broward High School in their opening match, but faced a setback in their subsequent game against the Lady Colts.
The Coral Glades boys basketball team currently holds a record of 1-1, having secured a victory against Plantation High School while facing a defeat against Calvary Christian Academy.
The girls team secured a victory against Plantation High School in their sole match, whereas the J.P. Taravella boys team currently holds a record of 0-2. The girl’s team is still awaiting the commencement of their season.
