Three hospitalized following wrong-way crash on Broward County’s I-95

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Law enforcement agencies were looking into an overnight traffic accident that occurred on Interstate 95 in Broward County. The incident, as per official reports, involved a vehicle erratically moving in the wrong direction.

The impact of the collision necessitated that a minimum of three individuals be transported to a nearby medical facility for necessary treatment. The unfortunate event unfolded around 2:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-95, in proximity to Commercial Boulevard. Details pertaining to the health status of the individuals involved remain under evaluation and are yet to be disclosed.

While the Florida Highway Patrol is yet to publicly confirm specific details regarding the incident, video evidence captured from the scene presents a vivid depiction of at least two vehicles bearing extensive frontal damage.

According to information released by the Oakland Park fire officials, the root cause of the accident was identified as a driver travelling in the wrong direction, which subsequently resulted in a head-on collision with a vehicle moving in the opposite direction.

The incident prompted a temporary suspension of freeway operations within the express lanes of the affected region. However, the lanes were reopened a short while later.
