Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce hosts workplace wellness symposium focused on healthier employees and stronger business performance

Coral Springs, Florida – Business leaders, medical professionals, and wellness experts gathered this week in Coral Springs to focus on a growing priority in modern workplaces: employee health and its direct connection to business success.

The Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted its “Workplace Wellness: The ROI of Wellness Symposium” on May 19 at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Coral Springs, drawing attendees from across South Florida who are looking for practical ways to improve both employee well-being and organizational performance.

According to organizers, the event centered on how workplace wellness programs can influence productivity, staff retention, morale, and overall business outcomes. The discussion highlighted a simple idea that continues to gain attention in corporate spaces: healthier employees often contribute to stronger, more stable companies.

The symposium was moderated by Dr. Jonathan Fields of Integrative Medicine US and featured a panel of representatives from several major healthcare systems, including the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Broward Health, Baptist Health, and Memorial Healthcare System. Each brought a different perspective on how wellness initiatives can be integrated into both large and small organizations.

Throughout the event, attendees were given strategies and information covering a wide range of topics. These included preventive care, mental health support, emotional wellness, movement and mobility, lifestyle medicine, and ways to build healthier workplace environments. While the subjects varied, the message stayed consistent: wellness is no longer just a personal matter, but a workplace priority.

Alongside the panel discussions, the event also featured a Wellness Business Expo. This portion of the symposium allowed participants to meet local wellness providers, companies, and service organizations offering tools and resources aimed at improving health in professional settings. From fitness programs to healthcare solutions, the expo provided a hands-on look at options available to employers.

Chamber president Charinus Davis emphasized the importance of bringing these groups together in one place. She said, “We were proud to bring together such an incredible group of healthcare leaders and business professionals for this important conversation,” said Chamber president Charinus Davis. “Workplace wellness is no longer optional — it is a critical investment in the long-term success of both employees and organizations. This symposium provided meaningful takeaways and connections that attendees can immediately bring back to their businesses.”

Organizers noted that the event was designed not just as a discussion, but as a starting point for action. Many attendees left with new contacts, ideas, and practical steps they can apply within their own companies.

As workplace expectations continue to evolve, events like this reflect a broader shift in how businesses approach employee care, treating wellness not as an extra benefit, but as a core part of long-term success.
