Coral Springs selects three soccer vendor finalists as city commission prepares to make final decision in coming weeks

Coral Springs, Florida – The process to select a new operator for Coral Springs’ travel soccer program is moving into a decisive stage, with three finalist organizations preparing to make their case before city officials in the coming days. The decision follows months of revisions, public debate, and a restarted selection process that has drawn strong attention from the local soccer community.

According to city officials, a selection committee reviewed six proposals submitted in response to the city’s request for proposals. After scoring and evaluation, three organizations advanced as finalists: Fort Lauderdale Football Club, RLC Management Sports Programs, and Parkland Travel Soccer Club.

City records show Fort Lauderdale Football Club leading the scoring with 410 points, followed closely by RLC Management Sports Programs with 395 points, and Parkland Travel Soccer Club with 333 points. These rankings helped determine which groups moved forward in the process.

Each of the three finalists will now have 30 minutes to present their plans to a city committee on Tuesday. After each presentation, committee members will conduct a 30-minute question-and-answer session to further evaluate the proposals and clarify program details.

Once presentations conclude, the selection committee will prepare a recommendation for the Coral Springs City Commission. Officials expect the commission to consider the item at its May 6 meeting, where a final decision could be made.

The current search comes after an earlier attempt to assign a single vendor for the city’s soccer programs was halted. At that time, Coral Springs received seven proposals and ranked the top four candidates. However, concerns raised by parents and coaches during multiple city commission meetings led officials to cancel the process and revise the scope of services before restarting the search.

Despite those changes, questions from parts of the soccer community have continued to surface. Some residents remain concerned about transparency and fairness in how the selection process is being handled.

One resident, Dhiren Chauhan, expressed concerns in communication with TAPinto Coral Springs, suggesting that Fort Lauderdale Football Club may have been identified as a leading choice before the process concluded. He also pointed to social media activity involving the club and coaching hires from Springs Soccer Club as part of the broader discussion within the community.

“This issue affects not only the soccer community but also the broader Coral Springs community, which expects transparency and accountability in decisions involving public programs and resources,” he said.

City officials have emphasized that the process remains ongoing and that no final decision has been made. They noted that public input will still be part of the upcoming City Commission meeting, allowing residents to share their views before any vote is taken.

The outcome of the May 6 meeting is expected to shape the future of Coral Springs’ travel soccer program, which serves a large number of youth players and families across the city. With strong interest from multiple organizations and active engagement from the community, the final decision is likely to draw continued attention in the weeks ahead.

For now, all eyes are on Tuesday’s presentations, where each finalist will have one more opportunity to outline its vision before the process moves into its final stage.
