Coral Springs man arrested after repeatedly harassing neighbor with spitting vomiting and offensive gestures over several weeks

Coral Springs, Florida – A Coral Springs man was arrested after allegedly harassing his neighbor over several weeks in a disturbing series of incidents that included spitting on her door and surveillance camera, vomiting on her doormat, and making offensive gestures. The victim, who lives alone, reported that the harassment escalated to the point where she felt unsafe in her own home and temporarily left the apartment with her child to stay with a friend in Boca Raton.

According to police reports, the incidents began when Spencer Young, 28, allegedly started spitting on the victim’s door and Ring camera, leaving trash outside her apartment, and making repeated obscene gestures toward her surveillance devices. The victim, who told officers she had never interacted with Young prior to the incidents, also claimed that he performed a Nazi-style salute and made derogatory remarks directed at her. She provided video evidence documenting multiple episodes of the harassment, which police reviewed as part of their investigation.

In addition to the verbal and physical intimidation, the victim reported that Young vomited on her doormat and may have broken a glass object near her front door. The harassment was not limited to her home, as her vehicle also sustained significant damage. A mechanic estimated that scratches and a broken side mirror caused by Young amounted to roughly $2,500.

When police arrived at the scene, Young admitted to some of his behavior. He acknowledged spitting on the victim’s camera and making offensive gestures, claiming it was because he disliked that the camera faced his apartment. Young also admitted to vomiting on the doormat, but he denied intentionally damaging her vehicle, suggesting the damage may have been accidental. Despite his explanations, authorities described his actions as willful and malicious, causing emotional distress to the victim.

Young was arrested on February 22 and charged with stalking and felony criminal mischief for damage exceeding $1,000. He was booked into the Broward County Main Jail but has since posted bond. He was released under conditions that include house arrest and no contact with the victim, ensuring that she can return to her home safely while legal proceedings continue.

The victim’s experience highlights the severe impact harassment can have on individuals living alone, especially when it escalates to threats and property damage. Police emphasized the seriousness of the case, noting that Young’s actions were deliberate and created a climate of fear that forced the victim to temporarily relocate.
