Coconut Creek police investigate murder-suicide involving Fort Lauderdale emergency room doctor early Saturday morning

Coconut Creek, Florida – Coconut Creek police are investigating a tragic murder-suicide that occurred early Saturday morning, involving a Fort Lauderdale emergency medicine doctor. Authorities say that Dr. Jean Dominquie Foureau, 34, fatally shot a 38-year-old woman before taking his own life around 4 a.m. in the Paloma Lakes neighborhood on the 4800 block of Acardian Trail.

According to police spokesperson Scott Leamon, officers were called to the residence following a domestic-related incident. “Police were called to a domestic-related call at the address,” Leamon said, confirming the circumstances that led to the investigation. While authorities continue to gather details, Leamon noted that no arrests are expected in connection with the case.

The identity of the female victim has not been released, as it remains unclear whether her next of kin have been notified. Police are treating the incident as an isolated domestic event, and they continue to work to determine the precise timeline and circumstances that led to the tragedy.

Dr. Foureau was a 2024 graduate of the Broward Health Graduate Medical Education program in emergency medicine. His professional background also includes a degree from Florida State University and service as a U.S. Army veteran, according to information listed on his social media accounts. The Florida State Board of Medicine issued him a medical license in July 2023. His license is active and in good standing, with Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale listed as his address of record.

The Coconut Creek Police Department has stated that it is conducting a thorough investigation, including reviewing the scene, interviewing potential witnesses, and examining available evidence. “While police continue the investigation, they don’t expect to make any arrests,” Leamon said, underscoring the isolated nature of the incident.

The case highlights a disturbing domestic-related violence situation that ended with two lives lost. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward, as they continue to piece together the events that led to the fatal incident.
