Families in Coral Springs can enjoy an overnight adventure at the Sportsplex during new year campout

Coral Springs, Florida – Families in Coral Springs are invited to trade their living rooms for the great outdoors when Campout Coral Springs brings an overnight adventure to the Sportsplex Athletic Field this January. The event, designed for residents of the city, promises a full night of activities, meals, and outdoor fun, all without leaving town.
Scheduled to run from 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, through 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, the event will transform the Sportsplex Athletic Field, located at 2800 Sportsplex Drive, into a temporary campground. Attendees will experience the simple joys of camping, including roasting s’mores, watching a big-screen outdoor movie, playing kickball, and exploring the on-site playground.
“This event is all about creating family memories and giving residents a chance to enjoy the outdoors together,” organizers said. “Sleeping under the stars, sharing meals, and participating in fun activities will make it a weekend to remember.”
The campout is open exclusively to Coral Springs residents, and advance registration is required to secure a spot. Families and groups will set up in 20-by-20-foot spaces, each accommodating up to six campers. Each space requires at least one adult camp leader, and groups exceeding six participants must register for an additional site and provide a second adult leader. Residency verification will also be required for all participants.
Registration costs $100 per camping space, which covers access to all scheduled activities, Saturday dinner, and Sunday breakfast. While meals and entertainment are provided, campers are responsible for bringing their own tents, sleeping materials, and chairs. Electric access will be available to inflate air mattresses, and restrooms will be on-site, though showers will not be provided.
Safety is a top priority for the city. Coral Springs Public Safety personnel will be present throughout the event, while the Coral Springs Police Department will provide overnight security. Communal campfires, a highlight for many families, will be safely managed by the Coral Springs–Parkland Fire Department.
Check-in and campsite setup will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, with participants breaking down their sites between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday. Parking for attendees will be available at Coral Glades High School, and families are encouraged to bring beach carts or wagons to help transport camping equipment to the field.
Organizers note that the campout will proceed rain or shine, ensuring that families can count on a consistent schedule of activities regardless of weather. Certain items are prohibited to ensure safety and a family-friendly atmosphere. These include RVs, pets, alcohol, fireworks or sparklers, personal cooking or fires at individual tent sites, unregistered guests, amplified music or speakers, and personal generators.
Participants can look forward to a schedule of communal fun that fosters connection and enjoyment. From crafting and roasting s’mores around the fire to watching a movie under the night sky, the event is designed to create lasting memories for families in a safe, well-supervised environment.
Campout Coral Springs represents a unique opportunity for residents to experience the excitement of camping without traveling far from home. With carefully planned activities, on-site meals, and the guidance of experienced camp leaders, it’s a chance for families to unplug, bond, and enjoy the simple pleasures of outdoor life together.
For those interested, advance registration is strongly recommended, as spaces are limited. The event promises to offer Coral Springs families a weekend full of laughter, connection, and the kind of shared experiences that only an overnight adventure can provide.
