FSU nursing dean Jing Wang receives prestigious global fellowship from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland for leadership and innovation

Tallahassee, Florida – Florida State University College of Nursing Dean Jing Wang has been recognized for her exceptional leadership and innovative contributions to nursing and health care with the Fellowship Ad Eundem from the Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). This prestigious global honor celebrates her visionary work in advancing digital health, integrating artificial intelligence in health care, and driving workforce innovation.
The Fellowship Ad Eundem is one of the highest honors in nursing leadership, awarded to individuals whose professional achievements have significantly advanced health care and the nursing profession worldwide. Wang’s recognition by RCSI highlights her international impact and the growing influence of Florida State University in the global health care landscape.

RCSI, formally known as RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences, is a world-renowned institution recognized for excellence in health sciences education, research, and professional training. The fellowship is conferred upon leaders who have demonstrated extraordinary achievements in advancing health care globally.

Under Wang’s guidance, the FSU College of Nursing has expanded its global presence and accelerated its innovation agenda. Among her notable achievements is the launch of the nation’s first Master of Science in Nursing program with a specialization in AI Applications in Health Care. The program emphasizes the integration of digital health tools and artificial intelligence to improve patient outcomes and advance research in health care technologies.
In addition, Wang has spearheaded international partnerships that enhance nursing leadership, practice, and workforce development. These initiatives position FSU as a global leader in preparing nurses to tackle the challenges of modern health care systems, including the integration of AI and digital technologies.
Wang joins an elite group of nursing leaders who have received the Fellowship Ad Eundem. Other honorees include Claire Montgomery Zangerle, CEO of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership and chief nurse executive of the American Hospital Association, and Maurizio Zega, president of the Order of the Nursing Professions of Rome and vice president of the European Nursing Council. Their inclusion underscores the fellowship’s recognition of global nursing leaders whose work has shaped the profession internationally.
Wang was formally conferred with the fellowship during the December 2025 Conferring Ceremony in Dublin, Ireland.
