City Manager Catherine Givens earns the prestigious ICMA Credentialed Manager designation recognizing excellence in leadership and commitment to professional development

Coral Springs, Florida – City Manager Catherine Givens has joined an elite group of public servants after being awarded the Credentialed Manager designation from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). The honor, regarded as one of the highest in local government management, is currently held by just over 1,300 professionals worldwide.

The ICMA Credentialed Manager program is a voluntary recognition reserved for those who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, a strong ethical foundation, and an ongoing commitment to professional development. To qualify, candidates must bring extensive experience in senior local government positions, hold an accredited academic degree, and meet rigorous standards of integrity and performance.

Givens was appointed City Manager of Coral Springs in January 2025, a milestone that made her the first woman in the city’s history to hold the position.
