Coral Springs woman faces multiple felony charges after allegedly assaulting police during domestic dispute

Coral Springs, Florida – A Coral Springs woman is facing multiple felony charges after police say she attacked officers called to respond to a domestic dispute earlier this month. The incident unfolded on the evening of August 4 and escalated quickly, according to police reports.

Authorities say Lynda Boulin, 42, got into an argument with her husband around 8:40 p.m., prompting a call to law enforcement. While officers were en route, Boulin allegedly threatened to throw boiling water on them when they arrived at the couple’s home.

Upon reaching the scene, police were met with immediate aggression. The report states that Boulin’s husband told officers she had been “extremely upset and depressed” following the recent passing of her mother. However, the situation quickly turned violent when an officer tried to speak with Boulin at the doorway. She reportedly slammed the door on his foot and placed her hands in his face.

Efforts to de-escalate the encounter were met with further resistance. When an officer attempted to escort Boulin into the living room, she allegedly kicked him multiple times in the midsection. She also scratched the hands of that officer and a second officer, leaving several cuts. During the struggle, she continued to kick, scratch, and spit at police while they tried to place handcuffs on her.

After being restrained, Boulin was taken to Broward Health Coral Springs for medical clearance. Police say her aggressive behavior did not end there. While at the hospital, she reportedly kicked two officers while being transferred from a car into a wheelchair and then from the wheelchair to a hospital bed.

As a result of her actions, Boulin was charged with four counts of battery on a law enforcement officer, third-degree felonies. She was booked into the Broward County Main Jail and later released after posting a $3,000 bond.

The incident highlights the challenges police face when responding to domestic disturbances, particularly when emotional distress and grief are factors. Police officials emphasize the need for caution in such situations, both for officers and those involved in the dispute.

“This was a highly volatile situation,” one official said. “Our officers were confronted with aggressive behavior while trying to ensure everyone’s safety, and the charges reflect the seriousness of the assault.”

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the domestic dispute and encourage anyone experiencing similar conflicts to seek help through local support services or law enforcement intervention before situations escalate to violence.

Boulin is scheduled to appear in court to face the charges, and authorities say the case will proceed through the legal system as investigators compile evidence from the incident.
